Lady Eagles open Conference USA play, travel to Tulane
The Lady Eagles are coming off a 49-43 loss at UNO. Dana Jones, the only player in double-figures, led Southern Miss with 13 points. Sonja Brown pulled down a team-high eight rebounds. Both team struggled from the field, shooting 28 and 29 percent, respectively.
Jones continues to lead the team in scoring, averaging 11.0 points per game. Brown leads the team in rebounding (7.9 rpg) and blocks (3.9). Brown ranks fourth in the nation in blocked shots. Marlena Lee leads the team in assists with 42.
The Lady Eagles are averaging 60.1 points and 39.8 rebounds while shooting 40.1 percent from the field and 64.8 percent from the free throw line.
Following the Tulane game, Southern Miss returns home for a three-game homestand, hosting Memphis, Jan. 17 and Saint Louis, Jan. 19.
