Southern Miss Baseball Ranked No. 28
Hattiesburg, Miss. - After posting a 3-1 week, including a Conference USA series sweep at Charlotte, Southern Miss was ranked No. 28 in the nation by Collegiate Baseball Magazine, one of the leading sources of information about college baseball in the nation. The Golden Eagles also received votes in the USA Today/Baseball Weekly Poll.
The Golden Eagles sitting atop of the Conference USA standings, hold a one-game lead over Houston, Louisville and TCU. Southern Miss has an overall record of 21-11 and 9-3 in league play. The sweep over Charlotte was the only series sweep of an opponent this past weekend and marks Southern Miss' second of the season as they swept Cincinnati in Hattiesburg in week two.
The Golden Eagles host Southeastern Louisiana on Tuesday, April 9, New Orleans on Wednesday, April 10 and Louisville for the Conference USA weekend series. Friday's game begins at 6:30 p.m., Saturday's at 4 p.m., and Sunday's at 1 p.m.
