Lady Eagles Are 9th After Two Rounds At USF Tourney
BRADENTON, Fla. -- The Southern Miss women's golf team shot rounds of 311 and 323 and is ninth after first-day action in the Waterlefe/USF Invitational Golf Tournament being hosted here by the University of South Florida. The third and final round of the 14-team event will be played Tuesday.
Michigan State shot 293-301--594 and is 20 shots ahead of second place Central Florida after two rounds. Tulane (308-311--619), host South Florida (309-310--619) and Louisville (305-315--620) round out the top five teams.
Central Florida's Federica Piovano (71-70--141) is tied with Michigan State's Stacy Snider (70-71--141) for low score honors after 36 holes.Michigan State's Emily Bastel (69-74--143), Miami's Camilla Hilland (75-71--146) and UCF's Sarah Greene (72-74--146), who is playing unattached, round out the top five.
For Southern Miss, Jennifer Keefe led the way with an 81-76--157 total. Other Lady Golden Eagles and their scores include: Ashlea Deener (74-86--160), Brena Quaranto (74-86--160), Natasha Vincent (82-81--163) and Ofelia Lopez (84-80--164).
The Lady Eagles will play next when they host the Conference USA Tournament April 20-22, at the Hattiesburg Country Club.
