Golden Eagle Men?s Tennis Team Defeats Southern Baton Rouge
The Southern Miss men?s tennis team defeated Southern Baton Rouge, 6-1, this afternoon at Tatum Park in Hattiesburg, Miss.
The Eagles won all three of their doubles matches to take an early 1-0 lead. The team went on to win all of the singles spots except for the No. 5 spot where Benjamin Ncube (SU) defeated Uwe Gneiting (USM), 2-6, 6-3, 6-3.
This is the first victory for the Golden Eagles. Their overall record improves to 1-2. The team will hit the road for the next match at the Louisville Kentucky Tournament, Feb. 22-24. The Golden Eagles will play Memphis on Feb. 22, Louisville on Feb. 23, and DePaul on Feb. 24.
