Davis Named Associated Press All-American
Davis, who received the 2002 Conerly Trophy signifying the top player in the state of Mississippi, was also a first-team All-Conference USA member for the second year in a row. He leads Southern Miss in tackles (156), solo tackles (111), sacks (10.5) and tackles for loss (23.0) and is ranked among the nation's best in all three categories, No. 2 in solo tackles, tied for No. 4 in total tackles, No. 7 in tackles for loss and tied for No. 12 in sacks.
He is averaging 13 tackles a game, one sack a game and two tackles for loss per game. He also has registered two interceptions, two pass breakups, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. He currently leads Conference USA in tackles, solo tackles and sacks and is second in tackles for loss.
Davis has registered double-figure tackles in every game this year except for one and has a season-high 19 tackles against South Florida. He also has registered at least one sack in seven of the 12 games and at least one tackle for loss in every game. He has finished with double-figure tackles in 23 of 34 games in which he has played during his career.
Southern Miss finished the regular season with a 7-5 overall record and a 5-3 record in Conference USA action. The Golden Eagles will face Oklahoma State in the Houston Bowl on Dec. 27, at Noon, in the new state-of-the-art Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas. The stadium is the only one in the NFL that has a retractable roof. There?s not a bad seat anywhere?all 69,500 seats are good and weather will not be a problem.

Tickets for the game are $57 each and can be purchased by calling either 1-800-844-8425 or 601-266-5418, by faxing an order to 601-266-6529, or via the internet at www.SouthernMiss.com. The priority order deadline for Eagle Club members and football season ticket holders is Friday, Dec. 13.
Southern Miss? revenue for the game will depend, in part, on the number of tickets the Golden Eagles are able to sell. Fans are encouraged to buy their tickets through the Southern Miss Ticket Office to assure their seating within the Southern Miss ticket area.
The Golden Eagles are scheduled to practice Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday this week before departing for Houston on Monday morning, Dec. 23.
