Lady Eagles Hit the Road for Three Straight
The Lady Eagles are coming off victories in the Hattiesburg Inn Classic, winning the championship for the 13th time. Southern Miss defeated Mississippi Valley State, 58-35, and Birmingham Southern, 76-42. Dana Jones was named the tournament's MVP and Sonja Brown was named to the all-tournament team.
Jones continues to lead the team in scoring, averaging 12.1 points per game, while Brown leads the team in rebounding (8.6 rpg) and blocks (4.0). Brown ranks fourth in the nation in blocked shots. Marlena Lee leads the team in assists with 23.
As a team, the Lady Eagles are averaging 61.7 points and 39.4 rebounds, while shooting 41.3 percent from the field.
Following the road for three straight games, take a break for the Christmas Holidays and return to the Green Coliseum, Dec. 28, hosting nationally ranked Texas Tech.
