Lady Eagle Basketball Team Hosts No. 6 Ranked Purdue

Southern Miss plays its second home game, hosting No. 6 ranked Purdue, Sunday at 2:30 p.m. The Lady Eagles began the first of a five-game homestand, hosting UCF on Wednesday. Following the Purdue game, Southern Miss will host Samford, Dec. 1, and their own Hattiesburg Inn Classic, Dec. 6-7.

Senior forward Dana Jones continues to lead the team in scoring, averaging 15.7 points per game, while Sonja Brown has taken over the top spot in rebounding, averaging 6.7 boards per game. La'Tasha Sumerall leads the team in assists.

As a team, the Lady Eagles are averaging 59.0 points and 36.7 rebounds, while shooting 41.4 percent from the field. Of the 13 players on the roster, 12 have scored at least two points.

Southern Miss continues its homestand, hosting Samford, Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m., in the Green House.
