Southern Miss Women's Golf Ranked 14th at Tulane Tournament
NEW ORLEANS, La – Jamie Sims shot 81-86 – 167 to lead the Lady Eagles in the first day of the Green Wave Women’s Golf Classic.
The senior is tied for 53rd in the tournament’s individual standings, as Southern Miss (336-348 – 684) ranks 14th among the competing
teams.
Marella Canepa shares 58th after shooting 85-83 – 168, and Emily Black tied 69th with 84-90 – 174. Ofelia Lopez finished the day scoring
86-90 – 176 for 71st, and Michelle Zorn carded 89-89 – 178 for a share of 72nd. Brena Quaranto is competing as an individual and scored
83-80 – 163, tying 42nd.
Tennessee’s Erin Simmons shot 76-74 – 150 to lead the pack, contributing to the Volunteer’s eight-stroke advantage in the team
standings (306-310 – 616). Vanderbilt follows with 307-317 – 624, and host Tulane ended day one with 319-310 – 629 for third place.
Competition continues Tuesday, March 6, at Lakewood Country Club.
