Lady Eagles Begin Two-Game Homestand, Host Jackson State Tonight

The Southern Miss women's basketball team begins a two-game homestand, hosting Jackson State, Wednesday, Dec. 19 and Hampton, Friday, Dec. 21.

Southern Miss (4-5) is coming off a lop-sided loss at Texas Tech, 95-34. Sonja Brown led the team with eight points and Lana Lewis added seven. This was the first time this season a Lady Eagle failed to score in double figures. Mason continues to lead the Golden Eagles in scoring, averaging 11.4 points per game. Sonja Brown leads the team in rebounding, pulling down 7.9 rebounds per game while averaging 3.8 blocks per game. Sophomore Lana Lewis continued her perfect string of free throws, connecting on 4-of-4, to run her string to 20-of-20 on the seasaon.
