Golden Eagles Wrap Up Preparations for Tulane
HATTIESBURG, Miss. ? The Southern Miss Golden Eagles wrapped up preparations for their upcoming game against Tulane, Thursday, with the team's final full practice.
The contest against Tulane, dubbed "The Battle for the Bell", is set for Saturday at 2 p.m., in M.M. Roberts Stadium.
After practicing a few days during the open week last season, the Golden Eagles had three days of practice this week and will go through a final walk-through on Friday. Southern Miss Head Coach Jeff Bower was pleased with the team's overall preparation this week.
"It has gone well," Bower said. "We have had a good week. We had two good days last week, and then we came back ready. We had a real good week of preparation."
Heading into the game, the Golden Eagles are healthy with no significant injuries, Bower said.
Saturday's game against the Green Wave is the first of three final Conference USA games for Southern Miss, and Bower said that fan support is critical in this last stretch.
"I hope we have a big crowd," Bower said. "It is going to be a beautiful day, and we are just hoping that we will have a big crowd."
