Lady Eagle Golfers Hold Fourth At Georgia State Tournament
The Southern Miss women's golf team ended the first day of the John Kirk/Lady Panther Intercollegiate with a one-round score of 321 at Eagles Landing Country Club. Round two was cancelled due to frost on the course.
Princeton and host Georgia State are tied for the lead at 318. Jacksonville State claims third with a 320 in the opening round.
Ofelia Lopez shot 78, tying six other golfers for fourth place and leading the Lady Eagles. Natasha Vincent follows with 79, tying for 11th. Brena Quaranto and Ashlea Deener share 21st, shooting 82, and Jennifer Keefe scored 84 to tie for 26th place.
Charleston Southern's Kari Hilton leads the pack with a two-over par 74. Michelle Doyle of South Alabama, sister of former USM golfer Erin Doyle, is tied for second with Marie-Eve Dion of Jacksonville State, shooting 77.
Only one round will be held tomorrow, completing the tournament.
