Reeves Pleased With Team's Progress
The Southern Miss women?s basketball team held its second scrimmage Saturday morning, and Head Coach Rick Reeves was pleased with the team?s progress.
?I am real pleased with the team?s progress,? Reeves said. ?We look better than we did a week ago. We?ve had some good practices this week and it showed today in the scrimmage.?
The lone senior Victoria Mason led the team with 12 points, and Dana Jones added 10 points. Of the 13 players playing, 12 players contributed in the scoring column.
?Victoria had a solid scrimmage today,? Reeves said. ?She is actually playing her natural
position, and it shows in her game. Our point guard situation is coming around. We have three solid players, who can run our offense effectively.?
The Lady Eagles will play their first exhibition game, Nov. 6, against an NWBL team. For admission, a .25 donation will be taken at the door with all proceeds going to the American Red Cross. The local policemen and firemen will honored during halftime. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m., in Reed Green Coliseum.
