Wilson, Wrappah and Riely Fare Well at NCAA Championships
and hurdler Wenston Riley earned All-American honors at the NCAA Track and Field
Championships this past weekend.
Wilson used a personal best time in the 10th and final event, the 1,500m
run, to jump from 11th place to eighth with 7,310 points. The top eight finishers in
each event earn All-American status.
Riley posted the eight best time in the 110m hurdles, but was denied a
place in the finals because he did not finish in the top four in his semifinal heat.
Riley still earned All-American status because one of the runners ahead of him was
an international competitor making Wenston the eight-place American finisher.
Senior Hellenah Wrappah finished ninth in the semis and 6th in her heat
with a time of 23.44. She did not advance to the finals on Saturday.
Riley and Wilson join Adalius Thomas (football), Courtney Blades
