Charlie McArthur (Football, 1957-59)
A three-year letterwinner that made up for his lack of size with great determination and desire...In addition to being an outstanding halfback, he was considered to be one of the team's best defenders during his career...In 1958 he was a key member of the UPI College Division National Championship team...Was utilized offensively as a runner, but also as a talented pass receiver and kickoff return man...Despite battling injuries throughout his career, was still able to make considerable contributions to the success of Southern Miss football.
