About
A three-year letterwinner for Coach Kay James from 1988-1991, Alexis Hall (Adams) helped the Lady Eagles usher in an era of dominance in her time with the program. In just three seasons, Hall scored 1,184 points and started in 63 of her 92 career games to quickly earn the respect of the country, thanks in part to her 47.3 percent efficiency from the floor. Her scoring totals still rank highly in the program’s record books today and earned her numerous accolades.
Â
Upon finishing her career, she held the fifth-most points in school history and her 12.9 points per game were 12th-most as well. Today, she sits with the 20th-most points scored in school history and is one of just five players to reach 1,000 points in less than four seasons. Her scoring prowess helped her score 38 points – the eight-most in program history – against UAB on Dec. 5, 1989. She also still owns space in the single game records categories for three-pointers (No. 7) and three-point percentage (No. 1).
Â
A native of Gulfport, Miss., Hall earned some form of all-conference honors in each of her three seasons. As a freshman in 1988-89, she was named Metro Conference Freshman of the Year and notched in on the All-Rookie Team. She earned back-to-back spots the Metro Conference All-Tournament team in 1990 and 1991 as well as a spot on the All-Metro Conference Second Team in 1990-91. The Lady Eagles posted a 70-22 overall record with Hall on the floor and claimed the 1989 Metro Conference Title and won the 1990 Metro Conference Tournament while making back-to-back trips to the NCAA Tournament.
Â
After finishing her degree in 1992, Hall began her career in education as a financial aid advisor and director. She currently works as a project manager, substitute teacher and operates as her own travel agent. She is married to former football letterwinner, Southern Miss graduate and fellow M-Club Hall of Fame Inductee Deke Adams. The Adams family resides in Springdale, Ark., where Deke works as the defensive line coach at Arkansas.
Â
The couple has two children: Jaylen, a graduate of Winthrop, and Jordyn, who was taken with the 17th overall pick in the 2018 first-year player’s draft by the Los Angeles Angels and is currently a member of the Baltimore Orioles organization with Triple-A Norfolk Tides (Norfolk, Va.). In addition, Deke and Alexis are proud PopPop and Mimi to their grandchildren Laila and grandson James.
