Mary Brewer serves Southern Miss Athletics as the Chief of Staff .

As Chief of Staff, she provides leadership to the Athletics Department as a member of the Director of Athletics’ senior leadership team while also assisting with communication within the department and across campus. She provides sport oversight of both indoor and beach volleyball programs. She also serves as a liaison between the Athletics Department and the University Human Resources office on all HR functions. She supports and manages the Graduate Assistant program, working as a liaison between the Department of Athletics and the Graduate School. Brewer also provides oversight and direction for the M-Club Alumni Association, as well as, the Southern Miss Athletics Internship Program.

Brewer was originally hired at Southern Miss in Human Resources and worked there for almost four years before moving over to Athletics in 2018. Prior to Southern Miss, she worked at Forrest General Hospital Human Resources as a Recruitment Support Specialist for three years and then at Deaconess Home Health Human Resources for one year as a Human Resources Specialist.

The Brandon, Miss. native earned her bachelor's degree from Southern Miss in Business Administration. She then earned her master's degree in Business Administration from Southern Miss as well. She and her husband, Ben, Assistant Coach for Southern Miss Baseball, currently reside in Petal, Miss. with her two children, Evan and Madison.
