Stephanie Radecki is entering her fourth year at the helm of the Southern Miss volleyball program.
In her inaugural season with the Golden Eagles, she guided the team to a 17-15 record and a seventh-place finish in the Conference USA standings. At the C-USA Tournament, Radecki coached her team to a first-round upset of No. 2 WKU, marking the first time Southern Miss beat the Lady Toppers since 1988.
During her tenure with UNA, the Lions won five Gulf South Conference (GSC) championships, one NCAA South Central Region championship and a berth in the 2006 National Championship match. She also led UNA to nine appearances in the NCAA Division II Tournament.
Radecki was named the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) regional Coach of the Year twice, GSC East Division Coach of the Year three times and overall GSC Coach of the Year once. She has also coached players who have won all-conference honors 41 times, with 28 all-region selections and 10 All-Americans.
"I feel unbelievably honored to be given this opportunity to lead the volleyball program at the University of Southern Mississippi," said Radecki. "Jon and the entire athletic department at USM went out of their way to make me feel like an important piece to their vision for the future of USM volleyball. I am looking forward to not only continuing the success that the program has achieved, but also leading the program towards new heights."
Radecki's 2006 team went 35-6 and finished as the national runner-up.
Radecki went to UNA after one season as head coach at Saint Leo (Fla.) University in 2003.
A 1998 graduate of Edinboro University (Pa.), Radecki earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education. She was a four-year letterwinner and team captain as an outside hitter on the school's volleyball team. She was chosen as Female Athlete of the Year at Edinboro once, was Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Player of the Year as a senior and was tabbed All-PSAC and All-Atlantic Region twice.
Edinboro made two Elite Eight appearances while she played there, including two Atlantic Region crowns and one conference championship.
