After spending the last two years as a graduate assistant for the Golden Eagle program, Jack Walker will oversee the quarterback position for the first time in 2024.
The Madison, Miss., native assisted with the offense the last two season under Coach Will Hall following his stint as a quarterback for the Golden Eagles from 2020-21, appearing in seven games.
He came to Hattiesburg from Northwest Mississippi CC, where he led the Rangers to an 8-3 record and a MACJC North Division championship. He completed 147 passes for 2,279 yards and 20 TDs, which included a season-high 398 yards through the air and six TDs against Holmes. He originally signed with Georgia State out of high school and was on their roster for the 2017 and 2018 campaigns.
Walker played for coach Anthony Hart at Madison Central High School and helped the Jaguars to an 10-4-1 record and the third round of the MHSAA 6A state playoffs as a senior.
He completed 179 passes for 2,058 yards and 16 TDs in his senior season with nine rushing TDs. Walker also led the Jaguar team that ended South Panola’s 26-game winning streak in the 2015 playoffs.
Walker was selected first team 6A All-State by the Mississippi Association of Coaches and played in the Bernard Blackwell All-Star Classic.
He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2021 and his Masters’ in Sport Management in 2023.
