Southern Miss Announces 2026 Football Schedule

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Six home games, including an appearance by last season's Sun Belt Conference Champion James Madison, highlights the 2026 Southern Miss football schedule released Friday afternoon by the league office.
The home non-conference slate features in-state foe Alcorn State (Sept. 5) to open the campaign, along with UConn (Sept. 19), playing the Golden Eagles for the first time in football. Southern Miss also returns to Auburn (Sept. 12) for the first time since the 2018 campaign, along with making a trip to New Orleans to complete non-conference action against Tulane (Sept. 26).
The Golden Eagles then open their fifth Sun Belt Conference season on Tuesday, Oct. 6, in a nationally televised matchup at Troy.
Southern Miss then returns home for the next two games to face Arkansas State (Oct. 17) and Louisiana (Oct. 24), with the Louisiana game being the 2026 Homecoming date. The Golden Eagles then finish the month with a Halloween date at ULM (Oct. 31).
The final month of the regular season sees the Golden Eagles play host to James Madison on Thursday, Nov. 5, before taking back to the road to face the league's newcomer, Louisiana Tech (Nov. 14). First-year coach Blake Anderson and his squad then complete its regular season home slate against South Alabama (Nov. 21), before traveling to Norfolk, Va., to face Old Dominion (Nov. 28) to end the regular season.
The league championship game will take place on Friday, Dec. 4, at 6 p.m.
Kickoff times and networks for all midweek games and weekend games in the first three weeks of the season will be selected in May. All other games will fall into the traditional 12-day selection process.
Season tickets for the 2026 home schedule for both new and renewals are currently available by going online to SouthernMissTickets.com, by calling 1-800-844-TICK (8425), or by visiting the Pat Ferlise Ticket Office weekdays during normal business hours. The deadline to renew season tickets for the 2026 season is Saturday, April 18. New this year, the Southern Miss Ticket Office is offering a 4-for-$260 upper-level season ticket package. Secure this special offer before the March 20 deadline to lock in the $260 price. Current season ticket holders should also stay tuned for additional details on 2026 football parking season tickets coming in April.
