Southern Miss 0, St. John's 4
The Golden Eagles mustered six hits in the contest, failing to bring in a run, leaving nine base runners stranded on the base paths.
Natalie Herrington, starting the game, set down the top of the order with two ground outs to third, ending the first with a strikeout. The Golden Eagles were the first to record a hit in the contest with Nealy McManus singling through the left side of the infield on two outs.
Allowing back-to-back one out singles, Herrington gets out of the second unscathed leaving both runners stranded.
Jolie Hays led the bottom of the second with a walk. Paris Ferguson laid down a bunt-single, forcing a throwing error to end up on second base and Hays holding up on third. Abbi Troquille puts ducks on the pond after getting beamed by the first pitch of the at bat. Southern Miss was unable to capitalize with St. John's Ana Serafinko picking up two strikeouts and a ground out, getting herself out of the jam.
Riding the momentum, the Red Storm put a notch in the top of the frame. Nealy McManus got on-board via a walk attempting to inspire the bats with a stolen base. St. John's Serafinko thwarted the attempt with a ground out and a strikeout.
In the fourth, Olivia Christian entered the circle after Herrington faced adversity allowing runners on second and third with two outs. The Red Storm brought two runs in off a Jess Bianco triple bringing the score to 3-0.
St. John's put the nail in the coffin in the sixth picking up an RBI single. Southern Miss attempted to stage a comeback with two singles off the bat of Carrie Green and Kinsley Gordon-Sivley. With a ground out and two strikeouts, St. John's picked up the win 4-0.

The Golden Eagles opened the flood gates in the top of the first with Hannah Christian drawing a walk and stealing second. McManus drew a walk and stole second as well after Christian swiped third. Kayce Bennett placed a two RBI single down the right field line bringing home the two speedsters. Southern Miss continued showing plate discipline following a Julia Glasgow walk, with Bennett and Glasgow advancing a base off a passed ball. Abbi Troquille picked up her first RBI of the day with a single through the middle bringing in Bennett from third. The scoring persisted with a Gordon-Sivley RBI single to left, followed by a bases-clearing triple from Christian and capped off by a Maddison Johnson triple to right with an 8-0 score through the top frame.
The Golden Eagles held Alabama State to no hits through the third with Kayla Giardina in the circle through two and BrookLynn White closing the game, with the streak breaking in the bottom of the fourth when the Hornets Talee Sims rocketed a single up the middle. Later, with a Tiffany Bruss RBI single, Sims came around to score interrupting Alabama States silence.
