Women’s Basketball Draws Toledo for MAC-SBC Challenge Round Two

NEW ORLEANS – Southern Miss women's basketball will travel to Toledo, Ohio, to take on the Toledo Rockets for the second leg of the 2025-26 MAC-SBC Challenge. The Sun Belt and Mid-American Conferences today announced the full pairings of the men's and women's basketball scheduling alliance with games taking place on Saturday, Feb. 7, and Sunday, Feb. 8.
Tipoff for the first-ever meeting between the Lady Eagles and Rockets is set for 2 p.m. ET (1 p.m. CT) at the John F. Savage Arena in Toledo, Ohio.
The Sun Belt finished a combined 8-5 in this season's first matchups of the MAC-SBC Challenge. All-time, the Sun Belt Conference leads the MAC-SBC Challenge 32-29 since the inaugural matchups in 2023-24. Southern Miss is 3-2 all-time in the challenge with all three wins coming at home with two defeats on the road.
Toledo sits at 6-6 overall and 1-1 in MAC play after falling 63-55 at Miami (Ohio) on Saturday. The Rockets are led by second-year head coach Ginny Boggess who led Toledo to a 24-9 record in her first year at the helm in 2024-25.
Toledo has won at least 24 games in each of the last four seasons and have finished no lower than second in the MAC's final standings in each of those years.
