
Women’s Basketball Professional Players Update

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss women's basketball's presence in overseas professional leagues continues to grow with the signings of 2025 graduates Melyia Grayson (A.C. PAOK, Greece) and Nyla Jean (Kırklareli FBO, Türkiye) to professional deals ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
Additionally, Former Lady Eagle great Domonique Davis also signed with powerhouse Sepsi SIC in Romania after playing last season with Vasas-Parasét Nöi Kosárlabda Kft in Hungary.
Melyia Grayson
Hattiesburg native Melyia Grayson is headed to Thessaloniki, Greece, after signing with A.C. PAOK (Pan-Thessalonian Athletic Club of Constantinopolitans). Dubbed "Double-Headed Eagles of the North," A.C. PAOK are members of the top rank of Greek women's basketball, the A1 National league.
Grayson finished her career at Southern Miss as the all-time leader in games played with 137 total appearances as a Lady Eagle. She also owns the second-most offensive rebounds (378), third-most starts (120), third-most blocks (150), third-most defensive rebounds (607), fifth-most rebounds (985), fifth-most made field goals (687), sixth-most points in school history (1,640), ninth-most field goal attempts (1310) while also ranking inside the top 15 in field goal percentage, rebounds per game, free throw attempts, minutes played, free throws made and blocks per game.
Nyla Jean
Nyla Jean, a native of Tampa, Fla., scoring 498 points in two seasons with the Lady Eagles after transferring from Georgia State. Jean inked a deal with Turkish Club Kirklareli Belediyesi fen Bilimleri Okullari Spor Kulübü (Kirklareli Municipality Science Schools Sports Club). Commonly referred to Kırklareli FBO, the club is located in Kırklareli, Türkiye, and competes in the Turkish Basketball Federation's second league, the TKBL (Türkiye Kadınlar Basketbol Ligi).
Kırklareli previously won the TKBL championship and earned promotion to the top tier of Turkish Basketball, the KBSL (Kadınlar Basketbol Süper Ligi) or, in English, the Women's Basketball Super League. The team was recently demoted back to the TKBL but is in contention to be back in the Super League after this season.
A two-year letterwinner with Southern Miss, Jean played in 64 games and was instrumental in the team's run to the Postseason WNIT Super 16 in 2024. She drilled 54 three-point baskets in her time at Southern Miss with a .348 three-point percentage. Jean also dished out 126 assists, blocked 16 shots and stole 83 possessions in her time in the Black & Gold.
Domonique Davis
Davis, a native of DeRidder, La., wrapped up her first season with Hungarian club Vasas Akademia Budapest, finishing in the finals of the top Hungarian League. After the season, Davis signed with ACS Sepsi SIC, located in Sfântu Gheorghe, Romania. Sepsi SIC, as the team is known, has won eight of the last 10 Liga Națională titles, the top league in Romania, and nine total Romanian Cups since the clubs establishment in 2012.
As perennial contenders in Romania's top league, ACS Sepsi regularly plays in the FIBA EuroLeague, the top level of women's basketball competition in Europe.
