8/7/2025 12:00:00 PM | Women's Basketball
NEW ORLEANS – The Sun Belt Conference has announced the full 2025-26 women's basketball schedule for all 14 member schools. Southern Miss will host nine contests at Reed Green Coliseum and travel to nine opponents to make up the 18-game league slate.
"The Sun Belt is a tough league with so many talented teams," said first-year head coach Missy Bilderback. "This schedule presents us with an opportunity to have some great matchups at Reed Green Coliseum. We are very excited about our roster and can't wait to see what this team can accomplish together."
Southern Mis will also play two games in the MAC-SBC Challenge, hosting Northern Illinois on Nov. 3 and traveling to a to-be-determined MAC opponent on Feb. 7. The 2026 Sun Belt Conference Women's Basketball Championship will again feature all 14 programs playing a seven-round bracket in Pensacola, Fla. The Sun Belt's contest for the NCAA Tournament's automatic berth begins on March 3 and culminates in the championship game on March 9.
The Lady Eagles open league play with a four-game homestand beginning on Thursday, Dec. 18, against South Alabama. Southern Miss will host Louisiana on Dec. 20 to complete a two-game conference swing before the Christmas break. The Lady Eagles ring in the new year on Jan. 1 against Arkansas State and complete their homestand with a Jan. 3 meeting against Troy.
Southern Miss hits the road for three games with a Jan. 10 trip to App State, followed by a Jan. 14 meeting at Texas State and Jan. 17 meeting at Arkansas State. Southern Miss hosts Marshall on Jan. 22 and Coastal Carolina on Jan. 24 before a trip up the eastern seaboard take the Lady Eagles to Georgia Southern (Jan. 28) and to Old Dominion (Jan. 31).
On Feb. 4, Southern Miss hosts James Madison ahead of the Feb. 7 trip to the TBD MAC opponent. The Lady Eagles return home for the final two games at Reed Green beginning on Feb. 12 against ULM. The regular season finale in Hattiesburg is slated for Feb. 14 against Texas State.
Southern Miss' regular season ends with a two-week stretch of road games starting on Feb. 18 at Louisiana and continuing with a Feb. 21 game at Troy, Feb. 25 contest at South Alabama and Feb. 27 trip to ULM to conclude the 2025-26 Sun Belt Conference schedule.
By virtue of the Sun Belt's scheduling matrix, Southern Miss will not play Georgia State in the regular season this year, ending a four-year streak where the two teams played one another. Coastal Carolina returns to the ledger this year after missing Southern Miss' schedule in 2024-25.
