HATTIESBURG, Miss – With the 2025 regular season approaching, Southern Miss women's soccer is hosting the first of two home exhibition outings against Holmes Community College on Monday, Aug. 4, at 5 p.m.
The Golden Eagles look to finish off their preseason preparations and debut their 26-person squad that consists of 15 returners and 11 newcomers. Of the 11 new additions, eight are high school signees and three transfer in from other four-year institutions. You can learn more about the 11 Golden Eagle newcomers here.
Mohammed El-Zare is back for his 13th season as Southern Miss' head coach and looks to build off his 15 returners to get back to the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.
Taylor Stewart (Hattiesburg, Miss.), Mallory Tapper (Brandon, Miss.) and Ryan Smith (Biloxi, Miss.) are back as the team's only seniors with Grace O'Shaughnessy joining them as a graduate student.
Raquelle Mitchell (London, Canada) finished third on the team with four goals scored last season and is the team's leading returning scorer.
