Six Games at Reed Green Coliseum and Trip to Cancun Challenge highlight 51st Season of Women's Basketball
HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss women's basketball head coach Missy Bilderback today announced the program's full nonconference schedule for the 2025-26 season. In their 51st season of play, the Lady Eagles will take on 12 total nonconference opponents throughout the 2025-26 regular season.
"This schedule offers our fans a lot to be excited about," said first-year head coach Missy Bilderback. "Our nonconference will prepare us to be road-tested and provide some great matchups at Reed Green Coliseum. We are also thankful to that we're able to provide our team with a memorable opportunity by participating in the Cancun Challenge. We can't wait for this season and to share our journey with our fans!"
The Missy Bilderback era gets underway at Reed Green Coliseum on Monday, Nov. 3, against Northern Illinois in round one of the MAC-SBC Challenge. The game is the first of a three-game homestand to open the season and is followed by the Lady Eagles annual Education Day game on Friday, Nov. 7, against crosstown William Carey.
The stay at Reed Green Coliseum closes on Monday, Nov. 10, against Blue Mountain Christian with the team hitting the road for one game at Jacksonville State on Thursday, Nov. 13. Southern Miss returns home for two more games against Southeastern (Nov. 18) and Nicholls (Nov. 22) before jetting down to the Cancun Challenge.
Southern Miss will be one of six teams participating in the 2025 Cancun Challenge's Yucatan Tournament from Nov. 27-28 at the Hard Rock Riviera Maya in Puerto Aventuras, Mexico. The Lady Eagles will play two games while at the event.
The road trip then takes the Lady Eagles to Dallas, Texas, for a Monday, Dec. 1, meeting at SMU. Southern Miss gets one more nonconference game at Reed Green Coliseum against UAB on Sunday, Dec. 7, before ending the fall nonconference slate on Sunday, Dec. 14, at Mississippi State.
Southern Miss' last regular season nonconference game is set for Saturday, Feb. 7, in the last leg of the MAC-SBC Challenge with the opponent and location still to be determined.
The Sun Belt Conference schedule gets underway on Thursday, Dec. 18, and will run through Friday, Feb. 27. The 2026 Sun Belt Conference Tournament will take place in Pensacola, Fla., with the first round beginning on Tuesday, March 3, and the championship game set for Monday, March 9.
