Southern Miss Student-Athletes Produce Stellar Academic Spring Semester

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Southern Miss student-athletes delivered another record-setting semester in the classroom for Spring 2025. The Golden Eagles achieved their ninth consecutive semester of posting a departmental GPA of 3.00 or higher.

'We are incredibly proud of our student-athletes and their outstanding accomplishments in the classroom," said Southern Miss Director of Athletics Jeremy McClain. "With the help of our academic staff, they continue to raise the bar for success in the classroom at Southern Miss."

Southern Miss Spring 2025 Quick Hitters:
- 13 teams earned a semester GPA of a 3.00 or higher, which was two more than Spring 2024
- A record 50 student-athletes named to the President's List with a 4.00 GPA
- 90 student-athletes were named to the Deans List with a 3.50 - 3.99 GPA for the first time in department history
- 259 student-athletes made AD Honor Roll with a 3.00 GPA or higher
- Student-athletes with a 3.00 GPA or higher increased by 72 percent from Spring 2024
- Southern Miss women's teams collectively earned the second-highest semester GPA on record with a 3.556
- Southern Miss men's teams collectively earned a 3.088 GPA, which marks the first time the men have posted a 3.00 or higher
- All nine women's teams earned at least a 3.00 GPA
- Women's golf led the group with a 3.92 GPA, which was the highest semester GPA in program history
- Soccer (3.727), Softball (3.770) and Beach Volleyball (3.749) all posted record high GPAs
- Four men's sports posted a 3.00 GPA or higher
- Baseball posted the highest men's GPA with a 3.4674
- Football posted its highest semester GPA in program history with a 2.967
- Six department records were set during Spring 2025
