GREENWOOD, Ind. – Southern Miss women's basketball's sophomore guard Morgan Sieper earned CSC Academic All-District Team honors as announced by the organization yesterday.
Sieper, a native of Tampa, Fla., wrapped up her second season with Southern Miss in the 2024-25 season and is the program's active leader in career three-point baskets with 96 makes. She is just six three-point baskets away from breaking into the all-time top 10 while her 318 career attempts from long range are just one behind current No. 10 La'Tasha Summerall's 319.
She started in all 31 games for the Lady Eagles last season and has suited up for every Southern Miss game since arriving in Hattiesburg two seasons ago.
Her prowess on the floor also extends to the classroom as the rising junior holds a 3.879 cumulative GPA in her two years at Southern Miss. A business administration major, Sieper has thrice earned selections to academic lists at Southern Miss. She earned a spot on the Dean's List (3.50+ GPA) twice in fall 2023 and 2024 while achieving a spot on the President's List for a perfect 4.0 GPA last spring.
Sieper is also active in community service as she has participated in over 25 hours of community service this year.
About CSC Academic All-District
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Women's Basketball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women's basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
About College Sports Communicators
College Sports Communicators was founded in 1957 and is a 4,400+ member national association for strategic, creative and digital communicators across intercollegiate athletics in the United States and Canada. The current name of the organization was adopted following a membership-wide vote on Aug. 31, 2022.
From its founding in 1957 until the 2022 name change, the organization was known as College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The name change signaled a major step in a larger strategic plan to highlight the association's evolution and expansion. The move better aligns with the association's membership makeup and further positions the organization to support and advocate for its members who serve in the communications, digital and creative college sports industry, regardless of position or title.
The organization, which celebrated its 65th year during the 2021-22 academic year, is the second oldest management association in all of intercollegiate athletics. College Sports Communicators became an affiliated partner with NACDA (National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics) in December of 2008.
