Softball 2026 Schedule Release

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Southern Miss head coach Natalie Poole announced the 2026 schedule, highlighting five home tournaments, on Wednesday afternoon.
"We are looking forward to the spring season. We have a young team and feel that the schedule provides us some good preseason competition as we prepare for the tough Sun Belt schedule," said Poole. "We will be playing La Tech in more than one weekend, which we feel will be a good matchup as they will be moving into the conference soon. We also play a couple of midweek matchups with SEC opponents, which prepares us well for the conference weekends."
The Golden Eagles open the season at the Southern Miss Softball Complex in Hattiesburg on (Feb. 6-8) with the Black and Gold Challenge featuring matchups with La Tech, Southeast Missouri, UAB, and Lipscomb.
The season ticket renewal process for the home schedule will begin Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 10 a.m.
The Golden Eagles aim to build on the 2025 season after posting a 16-10 home record, one of which being a walk-off win over Ole Miss in the 10th inning but falling just short in the Sun Belt Tournament to the Chanticleers who went on to win the Championship.
Southern Miss heads up to Starkville on (Feb. 10) for the first midweek showdown against Mississippi State of the season before going down to Leesburg, Florida for the Spring Games tournament (Feb. 13-15) followed by a Tuesday evening matchup against McNeese State (Feb. 17).
Tournament play continues (Feb. 20-22) with the Golden Eagles set to play in the La Tech Tournament in Ruston, Louisiana, before heading home for the Hub City Classic (Feb. 27-March 1), with Jackson State, Morehead State and UTC.
The team will host Alcorn State (March 3) before traveling to Jacksonville, Florida, for the UNF/JU Tournament (March 6-8).
Conference play kicks off (March 13-15) with a home series against Louisiana. Southern Miss then hits the road for two midweek matchups against UNC-Greensboro (March 18), Nicholls (March 25) paired two weekend series at App State (March 20-22) and Troy (March 27-29).
April features a slew of Sun Belt play, including home series against JMU (April 2-4), Georgia Southern (April 10-12), and South Alabama (April 24-26). The team then visits Texas State (April 17-19), Ole Miss (April 21), and ULM (April 30- May 2).
Southern Miss will close the regular season out with the Sun Belt Conference Tournament (May 5-9) stage set in Lafayette, La.
