Jackson State Becomes Final Opponent on 2025 Football Schedule

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss Department of Athletics announced today its final 2025 football opponent with the addition of in-state, non-conference opponent Jackson State.
The Golden Eagles and Tigers will play Saturday, Sept. 6, at Carlisle-Faulkner Field at M.M. Roberts Stadium in Hattiesburg. The contest will give Southern Miss seven home games next fall for first-year coach Charles Huff.
The meeting will be the fourth between the two schools with the Golden Eagles winning the three previous matchups, including a 55-7 triumph to open the 2018 campaign.
The Golden Eagles begin the season at home against Mississippi State, Aug. 30, with an additional non-conference home contest against Jacksonville State, Sept. 27. Southern Miss also heads on the road to face Louisiana Tech, Sept. 20, in its other non-league tilt.
While dates have not yet been released yet for Sun Belt Conference games, Southern Miss is set to play App State, ULM, Texas State and Troy at home, while facing Arkansas State, Georgia Southern, Louisiana and South Alabama on the road.
Season tickets renewals are currently available by going online at SouthernMissTickets.com, by calling 1-800-844-TICK (8425) or by visiting the Pat Ferlise Ticket Office weekdays during normal business hours.
