HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The University of Southern Mississippi announced Wednesday fan-experience updates regarding game day parking and tailgating procedures for this weekend's home game against USF, as well as the remainder of the 2024 home schedule.
The updates include information regarding the announcement of expanded drop-off areas as well as free parking for guests on game day to go along with student parking.
Expanded Drop-off Areas
Southern Miss Athletics and the University Police Department (UPD) have added drop-off points for fans at two locations, in addition to the existing drop-off zone at Spirit Park. Fans will be permitted to enter East Memorial Drive from the main campus entrance at Hardy Street to access the greenspace surrounding Lucas Administration Building, Bennett Auditorium, and other campus locations. Additionally, fans will be permitted to utilize the 4th Street entrance to Eagle Walk to drop off in the area around Scianna Hall, and on Ray Guy Way between Spirit Park and Century Park South.
Fans are encouraged to drop off their larger tailgating items each Friday before a home game between 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. Fans are also permitted to drop off at Centennial Green from 5:30 pm.-7:30 p.m. On the day of a home game, fans are permitted to use the drop-off zones from 7 a.m. until five hours prior to kickoff.
All campus guests utilizing the drop-off zones will be required to follow game day signage and UPD instruction. Vehicles utilizing these locations are not to be left unattended at any time.
