Southern Miss Soccer Announces 2024 Schedule

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss head women's soccer coach Mohammed El-Zare today announced the complete 2024 schedule for the Golden Eagles. Southern Miss will host eight home matches at the Marshall Bell Track & Field and Soccer Complex as part of a 16-game regular season schedule in addition to three preseason exhibitions.
The Slate
A preview of the 2024 Golden Eagles is available in three preseason exhibitions, beginning with a Sunday, Aug. 4, match at Nicholls in Thibodaux. The Golden Eagles also travel to Jackson State on Wednesday, Aug. 7, and close their exhibition schedule with a neutral site meeting against LSU on Saturday, Aug. 10, at the Ashton Brosnaham Soccer Complex in Pensacola, Fla.
The regular season kicks off with the home opener against Mississippi Valley State on Thursday, Aug. 15. Southern Miss then travels to Auburn for an Aug. 22 meeting before returning home to take on Alcorn State on Sunday, Aug. 25.
September begins with a road trip to Tuscaloosa, Ala., to play Alabama on Sunday, Sept. 1. Sunday, Sept. 8, brings Southern Miss home for a match against UAB before a three-game road swing beginning on Thursday, Sept. 12, at Ole Miss.
Sun Belt Conference
The Sun Belt portion of the schedule begins with road trips to Sun Belt Tournament runners-up James Madison on Saturday, Sept. 21, and to perennial Sun Belt power and last season's regular season champion South Alabama on Thursday, Sept. 26. Southern Miss returns home for a three-game homestand beginning on Sunday, Sept. 29, against Texas State followed by a Sunday, Oct. 6, clash against Coastal Carolina and rounded out with a Thursday, Oct. 10, meeting against Marshall.
A road trip to Jonesboro, Ark., to take on Arkansas State breaks up a stretch of home games on Sunday, Oct. 13. The Golden Eagles return home for back-to-back games on Sunday, Oct. 20, and Thursday, Oct. 24, taking on Troy and Louisiana, respectively, to end the regular season home schedule.
The season closes on the road with a Sunday, Oct. 27, match at Georgia Southern and officially ends on Thursday, Oct. 31, at ULM.
The Sun Belt Conference Tournament returns to Foley, Ala., and the Foley Sports Tourism Complex with the First Round beginning on Saturday, Nov. 2. The Sun Belt Conference Women's Soccer Tournament Championship is set for Saturday, Nov. 9.
