Track and Field Completes First Full Day at Bulldog Relays with 13 Top Eight Showings

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss outdoor track and field team collected 13 top eight showings in the first full day of the Bulldog Relays Friday in Starkville, Miss.
The Golden Eagles collected one victory with Jelese Alexander winning the women's high jump with a leap of 1.65 meters. She cleared that heigh on her first try, while Alana Simon did it on her second attempt to finish second in the event.
In other women's finals, Sarah Parnell collected two top eight finishes for the Golden Eagle women as she placed second in the 5000 meters with a time of 18:17.21, while collecting a fourth place showing in the 3000 meters with a 10:31.81. Kendall Drisko ended third in the 5000 meters with a 18:24.05.
Addison McLaurin enjoyed a second-place finish in the 400 meters with a 54.76, while Za'Isha Fraser rounded out the Southern Miss women's finishers with third place in the triple jump with a mark of 12.12 meters.
On the men's side, Piers Cameron captured second in the discus at 50.12 meters, while Conner Mozee finished sixth at 48.18.
Clemon Jimerson took fourth place in the triple jump with a leap of 13.90 meters, while Zayne Palomino collected fourth with a mark of 2.15 meters in the high jump with Maxiumus Littleton placed seventh with a 1.95. Austin Bourne registered an eighth place in the 5000 meters with a 16:02.96.
In one event that was held Thursday afternoon, Kaya Ludgood won the Hammer Throw with a winning toss of 57.30 meters. Mozee finished fifth at 49.68 meters.
The event concludes Saturday with the field events starting at 11 a.m., and the running events at 12 noon. Live scoring can be accessed by clicking here.
