The Golden Eagles last finished in a 1-1 draw Sunday versus Coastal Carolina, earning a point in conference play.
After falling to an early deficit four minutes into the match, freshman Raquelle Mitchell found the back of the net for the equalizer on a breakaway attack from an intercepted pass. Mitchell, who opened the season and her collegiate career with a historic brace, leads the team with three goals on the season.
As a team, Southern Miss controlled possession and created opportunities throughout the match, outshooting the Chanticleers 15-5 and setting up a season-high 11 corner kicks.
