Soccer Welcomes Coastal Carolina in Sunday Conference Contest

HATTIESBURG, Miss.-Southern Miss Soccer (1-6-1, 0-2-1 Sun Belt) continues its three-game home stand with a conference match against Coastal Carolina (5-4-3, 1-1-1 Sun Belt) at the Marshall Bell Complex Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Golden Eagles fell 1-0 in their previous match on Sunday against Texas State in a defensive contest. While Southern Miss fought even with the Bobcats, Mady Soumare's game-winning goal in the 63rd minute gave Texas State the differential it needed for the team's second straight conference victory.
Southern Miss registered eight shots, but only fired one on goal in the match, which came from a direct shot on a free kick from Chloe Taylor.
Bruni made her second consecutive start in goal and her fourth on the season, saving three shots. Bruni has 21 saves in eight games played this season, both which are career highs.
Now, Southern Miss turns to face Coastal Carolina, who earned its first conference victory Thursday in Statesboro, Ga. with a 2-1 victory.
The match will mark the Chanticleers' first ever soccer match in Hattiesburg.
