Volleyball Adds Brynn Botkin to 2024 Roster

HATTIESBURG, Miss.- Southern Miss Volleyball announced the signing of ULM transfer Brynn Botkin Thursday afternoon.

Botkin, a Magnolia, Texas native, spent her last two seasons as a Warhawk in Monroe, La., totaling 473 kills and 442 digs to begin her collegiate career.

The outside hitter led all Warhawks last season with 292 kills and 41 service aces, and defensively registering 282 digs, the third most on the team. She set a career-high 20 kills against App State on Oct. 14 and also a career-best 28 digs in a win against Georgia State on Nov. 10.

Botkin followed an impressive freshman campaign, where she made an immediate impact with 181 kills and 161 digs in the 2022 campaign. She recorded two double-doubles, including 12 kills and 10 digs, versus Southern Miss on Oct. 7, 2022.

Botkin graduated from Magnolia High School in Magnolia, Texas, where she was a four-year varsity letterwinner and team captain. Botkin also played for Revolution Volleyball Club from 2017-2022 and Magnum Volleyball Club in 2016.

She was named District Offensive MVP, First-Team All-District, First-Team All-Montgomery County, Team MVP and GHVCA Preseason Volleyball Team in her senior season, in which she registered 596 digs, 427 kills, 93 blocks and 61 aces. She helped lead the Bulldogs to a district championship and regional semifinal appearance in her junior season, finishing with First-Team All-District, First-Team All-Montgomery County, Second-Team All-VYPE, All-GHVCA Team and Team Offensive MVP honors.

The addition brings the Golden Eagles' signing class to five, including four incoming freshmen. Botkin joins two outside hitters in Emily Davis (Brandon, Miss.) and Ella Ward (Little Rock, Ark.) and liberos Kaylee Lowther (Jackson, Miss.) and Lindsey Smith (Madison, Miss.).
