Atkinson and Harris Named to All-Tournament Team at Beale Street Challenge

HATTIESBURG, Miss.- Memphis announced the Beale Street Challenge All-Tournament Team on Monday, selecting Southern Miss junior middle blocker Cara Atkinson and junior libero Megan Harris to the seven-player list.
Harris and Atkinson's play highlighted a successful road trip for the Golden Eagles, who finished in Memphis, Tenn. with a 2-1 record. Southern Miss swept Little Rock and Memphis Friday and fell to the undefeated Arizona State Sun Devils on Saturday.
Atkinson tallied 26 kills in nine sets played at the Beale Street Challenge, hitting at .353 through three games. She recorded a season-high 11 kills on 18 attempts against Little Rock and followed with eight kills, five digs and five total blocks against Memphis. Atkinson capped the weekend with seven kills versus Arizona State.
Harris led Southern Miss in its defensive efforts on the weekend, registering 39 digs through three matches. Her figure of 4.33 digs per set ranked fifth in the Sun Belt this week.
