"I am excited to see that Hannah has earned Sun Belt All-Conference accolades," said head coach Natalie Poole. "She has stepped up for our team in many ways day in and day out. I'm proud of who she is both on and off the field."
Borden started and played in all 45 Southern Miss games this season and batted .314. The Trussville, Ala. native has belted a career-high 11 homeruns, including three in a single game against South Alabama on April 28. Borden also smacked a career-high 11 doubles in 137 at bats.Â
Borden's 43 hits were the most she's recorded in a single season since becoming a Golden Eagle in 2020. She also drew 14 walks and drove in 28 runs. Behind the plate, Borden posted a .989 fielding percentage and had 256 putouts -- her most since recording 283 in 2021. She also had 28 assists, three off her career-high 31 assists she had last season.Â
Southern Miss and its all-conference catcher will take on Coastal Carolina on Wednesday afternoon in the opening round of the Sun Belt Tournament. The 10th-seeded Golden Eagles will play the seventh-seeded Chanticleers at 1 p.m. in Lafayette, La.
