Beach Volleyball Travels to AVCA Qualifiers in Huntsville

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss beach volleyball continues its Fall slate with the two-day AVCA Pair National Qualifiers in Huntsville, Ala. While all Golden Eagles will compete this weekend, Southern Miss' top two pairs will have a chance to make the AVCA Fall Collegiate Beach Championships.
Ola Chudzik and Sarah Murczek will pair again this weekend and are joined by Madison Cassidy and Valeria Siakidou Papakyriakou in the Bid division of the weekend. Top finishers in this division clinch a spot in the AVCA Championships, beginning Nov. 3.
Chudzik and Murczek claimed the runner-up spot in a tough field at the Coconut Beach Fall Invitational, falling in the championship to LSU's top pair.
While Southern Miss' top two pairs battle for a spot in the championship, another four pairs will be matching up against the field. Dylan Russell and Morgan Perry; Laurel Dennis and Ashlyn Rough; Ella Rodriguez and Carmen Sanchez Delgado; and Emmie Koszalka and Wiio Meinheit all pair together for the first time this fall.
The full schedule for the events is below. Saturday consists of pool play for the Bid Division of top pairs. The open division will play pre-determined pool play both Saturday and Sunday. A full schedule of events is below.
