Sun Belt Conference Releases 2023 Football Conference Opponents

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Sun Belt Conference announced Thursday morning the league opponents for the 2023 Southern Miss football schedule.
The Golden Eagles, which finished 7-6 this past fall culminating in a 38-24 LendingTree Bowl victory over Rice, are set to play Troy, Texas State and ULM at home, while road trips are scheduled to Arkansas State, Louisiana and South Alabama as part of the school's divisional slate in year three of the Will Hall era.
As for cross-divisional foes, the Golden Eagles will play host to Old Dominion and travel to Appalachian State to round out their league schedule for next season.
The league schedule format requires every institution each year to play all opponents in their division with a full division home and home slate completed each two years. The schedule also calls for schools to play every team in the opposite division in four years. The full rotation takes seven years and is defined as one home contest and one away game against each cross-division opponent.
The full schedule with dates will be released at a later date.
