HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Lady Eagle basketball releases their 11-game nonconference slate, headlined by six home games and two tournaments. Three contests mark first-time opponents for the Lady Eagles.
"We are excited about the upcoming season," said Southern Miss head coach Joye Lee-McNelis. "Our first year in the Sun Belt Conference will produce many challenges; however, we view challenges as an opportunity. This year's nonconference schedule is a great way for us to prepare for the coming year.
Our trips to Valparaiso, Ole Miss, Samford and the Long Beach Classic Tournament exemplify that. The home slate is just as exciting with Alabama coming to Reed Green Coliseum. Each opponent we face will be competing for their own league crown. North Alabama, Lamar, Mississippi College and Nicholls are excellent foes that we look to test our mettle against."
The 2022-23 Lady Eagles hit the court on Wednesday, November 2 at 6 p.m. for an exhibition against Auburn University at Montgomery. Southern Miss last played host to the Warhawks for their 2013-14 season, besting the then NAIA AUM, 77-54.
