Moudani Earns Second Conference USA Male Field Athlete of the Week Honor

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss track and field athlete Fred Moudani threw 61' 4.25" to take first at the Maroon and White Invitational in the shot put to earn his second Male Field Athlete of the Week recognition as announced by the Conference USA office on Tuesday afternoon.
"Fred continues to be impressive this season," said head coach Jon Stuart. "We expect great things from him as we approach the Conference USA Outdoor Championships."
Moudani is the only Conference USA student-athlete to throw over 60 feet in the event, having done so three times this season. His personal best came at the War Eagle Invitational where he threw 64' 1.75" to set a new school record.
The France native currently ranks sixth in the NCAA East Regional, while sitting at 14th overall in the shot put.
Moudani and the rest of the Golden Eagles return to action on May 12 at the Conference USA Outdoor Championships hosted by UTSA in San Antonio, Texas.
