Brown & Lee Earn NFCA All-Region Honors

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Destini Brown and Jana Lee were recognized as All-South Region honorees by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association on Thursday. Brown was named a Second-Team NFCA South Region Team member, while Lee earned Third-Team honors.
Brown earns her first All-Region honor for her efforts at center field during her final season in the Black & Gold. The McComb, Miss. native finished the 2022 season with 59 hits and eight home runs, while leading the team with 49 runs. Brown recorded 29 stolen bases, the most of any player in Conference USA, and was ended the season with a .990 fielding percentage.Â
Lee wrapped up her freshman campaign by leading Southern Miss first-year athletes in almost every statistic. The Albany, Ga. native recorded 51 hits and five home runs with a batting average of .329. Southern Miss relied upon Lee, both as a designated player and in the circle, as she pitched 93.2 innings for the Black & Gold, recording seven complete games for the Golden Eagles.
