Men's Tennis Falls to UAB

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss men's tennis team fell 4-1 to UAB on Sunday morning the at the Southern Miss men's tennis complex. The Golden Eagles moved to 2-2 at home following the loss.
"I give credit to UAB because they came out ready to play today," said head coach Zubin Engineer. "We got a win at second doubles, but we weren't able to secure the point and that was huge. Chris played well in singles for us, and I think he's been playing at a high level as of late. We will use these next couple of days to regroup and get ready for Louisiana."
Christopher Cahour picked up the lone singles win for the Golden Eagles, winning in straight sets on court six. The win evened his record at 2-2. Shamirul Shahril was winning in the second set before going unfinished. Alexander Gima was tied in the second set at five-all before going unfinished after dropping the first set. In doubles play, Alan Sanson and Gima picked up a 6-1 win on court two.
The Golden Eagles will host Louisiana on Saturday, Feb. 26. First serve against their future Sun Belt foes is scheduled for 10 a.m.
