Southern Miss Track & Field Announces 2023 Schedule

HATTIESBURG, Miss.—Southern Miss track and field has released its 2022 indoor and outdoor schedule. The Golden Eagles will compete in four regular season meets in the indoor season and seven in the outdoor season.
"With this schedule, we will see and compete against some of the best programs in the nation. It is going to help our kids compete at the highest level and prepare them for our conference championships and the postseason," said head coach Jon Stuart.
The Black & Gold will stay on the road for the indoor season. The team will open the season at UAB's Vulcan Invitational at the Crossplex in Birmingham, Ala., on Friday, Jan. 13, before making a trip to Nashville for the Vanderbilt Invitational on Jan. 20-21. Next up is a trip back to Birmingham for the Jaguar Invitational at the Crossplex on Feb. 5. The Golden Eagles will conclude their regular season by returning to Nashville on Feb. 10-11 for the Music City Challenge hosted by Vanderbilt.
The Sun Belt Indoor Championships will be in Birmingham on Feb. 20-21, and the squad will conclude the indoor season on Mar. 10-11 in Albuquerque, N.M. at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
Southern Miss will host a high school invitational on Friday, Mar. 3.
The South Alabama Invitational in Mobile, Alabama, on Mar. 18, will serve as Southern Miss' first outdoor competition before the team travels to Tallahassee, Florida, for the Florida State Relays on March 24–25. The Golden Eagles will return home to host the Southern Miss Invitational on Mar. 31 and Apr. 1, with Saturday being senior day. Before heading to Walnut, Calif., for the Mt. SAC Relays on April 13–14, the Black & Gold will first travel to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for the Joe May Invitational, sponsored by LSU, on Apr. 8. Then, on April 21–22, they travel to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, for the Crimson Tide Invitational. The Maroon & White Invitational, held in Starkville, Miss., on April 28–29, will serve as the Golden Eagles' final regular-season competition.
Turning attention to the postseason, Coastal Carolina will host the Sun Belt Championships from May 11–13 in Conway, S.C. Qualifiers from the season will then go to the NCAA East Regional in Jacksonville, Fla., on May 24-27. The NCAA Track & Field Championships will take place in Austin, Texas, June 7-10.
