Men's Basketball to Host LA Tech in CUSA Home Opener on Sunday

HATTIESBURG, Miss. --Â For the first time since Dec. 14, the Southern Miss men's basketball returns to the friendly confines of Reed Green Coliseum as it hosts Louisiana Tech on Sunday afternoon in the Golden Eagles' Conference USA home opener. Tip from the Greenhouse is scheduled for 2 p.m. CST on ESPN+.

The Need to Know
- In Thursday's loss at LA Tech, senior Tyler Stevenson moved into 41st on the Southern Miss all-time scoring list. The forward is 30 points from reaching 1,000 career points and would become the 17th player in program history to reach 1,000 points and 500 rebounds. Â
- With his 10 points on Thursday night, junior DeAndre Pinckney has now scored at least eight points in each of his last four games and is averaging 9.7Â PPG in conference play.
- Stevenson's 6.93 defensive rebounds per game leads all CUSA players and is averaging 8.3 RPG.
- Freshman Jaron Pierre, Jr. added 12 points on Thursday night, including four three-pointers of the final three minutes of the game. It was the seventh game this season in which he scored in double figures and 15th overall.Â
