2021 Game Day Experience for Football Saturdays Announced
9/6/2021 10:01:00 AM | Football
HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- As a new era of Southern Miss football begins, the Southern Miss Department of Athletics is pleased to outline several changes to the game day experience for fans during the upcoming season.
Â
Revamped Spirit Park:Â The game day experience begins long before fans take their seats inside the Rock. We've added live music and food trucks to the game day experience. Located outside the stadium, Spirit Park will feature tailgating areas for fans, food trucks and a videoboard to catch key college football action.
Â
Food Truck Park:Â Up to eight Hattiesburg area food trucks will be featured in Spirit Park. So come out early, grab some food, and enjoy!
Southern Station:Â Located in Spirit Park, the outdoor pavilion will feature live music beginning three hours prior to kick off. Live music includes performances by Adam Doleac on Sept. 11th, The Prom Knights on Sept. 18th, Drivin N Cryin on Oct. 9th and Muscadine Bloodline on Nov. 27th.

Â
Eagle Walk Path:Â The Eagle Walk on game days will remain the same as in year's past but we have now extended it to Spirit Park. The team will now continue down Golden Eagle Avenue and then make a left onto the sidewalk (in front of the Duff) with the Pride of Mississippi marching and playing behind them. Once the football team reaches the entrance of the Duff Athletic Center on the west side of the stadium, they'll then enter the locker room on the west side. The band will then peel off onto to ray Guy Way and play toward fans in Spirit Park. This adjustment will allow more fans to participate and send the team into the stadium with even more support.
New Home for Jr Eagle Funland:Â Jr Eagle Funland is moving to the grassy area next to the roundabout in Spirit Park and close to Southern Station. Entry and all activities remain free for Seymour's Sidekicks members. Kids can play on the inflatables and enjoy the game day festivities leading up to kick off.
Â
Once in the Rock, fans will continue to see additions and enhancements to their experience.
Â
New and improved concessions:Â A collaboration with Eagle Campus Dining will provide fans with new food, drink and service options, including offerings that represent Hattiesburg.
Â
The new officially licensed Gold Rush craft beer from Southern Prohibition will provide a local craft beverage to fans, as well as other various beer and light wine offerings from Miller Coors. Boiled Peanuts and Pretzels at many beer stations.
Additionally, available in the Family Fun Zone (south end zone) hand spun cotton candy and Little Eagles "kid box": comes with popcorn in a 32 oz. cup, candy box, yummy tummy drink and a toy. Kid friendly, Pop Brothers popsicles will also be available in two locations inside the Rock.
Â
New 64oz. souvenir drink cup for $5.00, two "Southern Q" BBQ stands featuring pulled pork sandwiches, sliced brisket sandwiches, and sausage dogs.
Â
New in-game enhancements:Â As fan experience efforts expand, even the action in the stadium will look and sound louder this season with the addition of traditional, thunder sticks.
Â
Pyrotechnics:Â New in 2021, pyrotechnics will be bigger and louder as part of the game day experience.
Â
Team Entrance:Â New on-field enhancements will greet the Golden Eagles when they take the field this season in new uniforms sporting a clean, Golden Eagles look.
Â
