HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss softball welcomes Krystal Goodman as the new graduate assistant. Goodman arrives from the University of Alabama where she played from 2019 to 2021.
Southern Miss softball Director of Operations had this to say about the addition of Goodman, "The Southern Miss softball staff is incredibly excited to have Krystal Goodman join our program as a Graduate Assistant. Her background speaks for itself and she comes from a great environment at Alabama that we can't wait to bring on board here. She will bring so much knowledge to every aspect of the softball field, and we can't wait to have her here in August."
The Mississippi native started her collegiate career at Chipola College (2017-18) where she compiled a 51-4 record, tossing 438 strikeouts and an average ERA of 0.62 (Freshman) and 0.46 (Sophomore). During her time as a member of the Crimson Tide, she made 43 appearances and tallied 71 strikeouts over 160.1 innings pitched.
"When I look at Southern Miss softball, I see a great group of young ladies who are focused on building a positive and family oriented culture. When I was younger, I remember going to a Southern Miss softball camp and thought it was awesome! I got a shirt from players and thought that they were celebrities", started Goodman. "Now coming to Southern Miss as the graduate assistant, I want to bring vision to the team. I look at the big picture and know that I have been there and done that. I see my experience and vision an asset for the women to use and build upon."
Goodman is set to arrive this fall after a fantastic playing career and brings a strong background in collegiate athletics after working with the Alabama Communications department in various area's such as volleyball, women's basketball, and baseball.
