
Heather Hill and Hannah Borden Tabbed to the C-USA All-Academic Team

Senior third baseman Heather Hill and sophomore catcher Hannah Borden each boast 4.0 GPA’s.
HATTIESBURG, Miss. – C-USA announced on Monday that Southern Miss redshirt senior third baseman Heather Hill and sophomore catcher Hannah Borden were named to the 2021 C-USA Softball All-Academic Team.
Hill, a native of Cabot, Ark. currently boasts a cumulative GPA of 4.0 in her double major of Sports Coaching and Physical Education. 2021 marks the first year that Hill has garnered C-USA All-Academic Honors.
The Golden Eagle standout has been named to the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll twice along with being awarded a C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal two consecutive years.
Hill has maintained a perfect GPA while balancing a career-year on the field starting in 49 games this season. She has recorded 10 extra-base hits and three home runs this season.
She currently ranks fifth in batting average for the Golden Eagles and has been lock down defensively with a .941 fielding percentage.
The right-handed hitting infielder has played an integral role in Southern Miss' success on the field this season. She has recorded 32 hits this season, a slugging percentage of .333 and 13 RBI's in the black and gold.
Borden, a native of Trussville, Ala., is currently sporting an unblemished GPA of 4.0 in her double major of Business and Spanish. 2021 marks the first time in Borden's career she has been named to the C-USA All-Academic Team.
Over the course of her two-year career Borden has displayed a tremendous effort from behind the plate. Borden currently ranks 6 in the C-USA for home runs and leads the team with eight homers this season. She has collected seven multi-hit games and driven in 19 RBI's this season.
Borden has recorded a career high slugging percentage at .444 and has caught 12 baserunners attempting to steal this season. The right-handed catcher posted a fielding percentage of .968.
Borden's outstanding effort behind the plate is only matched by her effort on the diamond.
