Golden Eagles set to host Southern Miss Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss track and field team continues their outdoor season this weekend as they host the Southern Miss Invitational at the Marshall Bell Track Complex on Friday and Saturday.
"We are excited to be able to host a meet here at home," head coach Jon Stuart said. "We'll be able to see a lot of our athletes compete and hopefully improve on the marks we had during the first weekend of the outdoor season."
The Black and Gold will welcome Alcorn State, Belhaven, Dillard, Florida A&M, Grambling, Jackson State, Loyola, Meridian CC, Mississippi Univ. for Women, Mississippi College, South Alabama, Southern Arkansas, Spring Hill, Stillman, William Carey and Xavier-Louisiana at the annual event hosted by the Golden Eagles.
The meet is set to begin at 3 p.m. CT on Friday with the women's triple jump, men's hammer and women's javelin. Saturday's action will kick-off at 11:00 a.m. CT with the men's long jump, while running events will begin at 12:10 with the women's 5000m.
