The Men’s Tennis Team Set to Take on Illinois State

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The second home match is on tap for Southern Miss Men's Tennis. The match will be played in Monday, March 8 at 2:00 p.m. versus Illinois State at the Southern Miss Tennis Complex in Hattiesburg.

Southern Miss is 3-0 on the season seeing outstanding singles performances from Olimjon Nabiev, Christopher Cahour, Alexander Gima, and Alan Sanson.

Last time out, Christopher Cahour played a crucial role in the Golden Eagle victory over Jacksonville State by winning his singles match competing with tenacity.

Head coach Zubin Engineer has led the Golden Eagles to three consecutive wins during the 2021 season.

Illinois State has opened the 2021 season 5-10 with a .333 winning percentage. The Illinois State tennis squad fell to Drake February 28 in a 5-2 Bulldog victory. The Redbirds are led by Mark Klysner who took over as head coach in 2013.

The Golden Eagles set for their fourth contest of the year and look to take a victory on their home court.
